I am very behind on my "internetting" as such everyone has probably already seen this.  I noticed part 1 of this piece as a video response to a Richard Dawkins video I saw on youtube titled something to the effect of "Where did we come from?".

The first part of this piece is on the origin of the Judeo-Christian religion, and it is very well researched and laid out.  They provide a very large list of references from reliable sources, and everything is nicely linked to and laid out.

The other 2 parts of the movie (2 and 3) are mostly anti-american rhetoric and conspiracy theories, but interesting nontheless if you have an hour to kill.

I am very interested in picking up a book listed on their source list about the similarity and origin of all religions.  Unfortunately it seems I will have to order the book rather than fulfilling my need for immediate gratification as chapters does not appear to stock it in Winnipeg.

Phooey.

Anyhoo, if you haven't seen this movie titled Zeitgeist( a German word meaning "Spirit of the Times") check it out here:

Regarding part 2:
As a simple, somewhat dramatified counterpoint (intended to refute "Loose Change, 2nd Edition", which is fine since that's where the Zetigeist producers seem to have got most of their information), I suggest watching the following video:

In addition, regarding the first part of Zeitgeist, can anyone provide confirmation of the solar alignment they mention?
I have been unable to find corroborating informtation, but this is hardly surprising as I have no idea how to go about looking for such a thing.
The Horus link checked out, although there were a great many other ancient gods that were referenced as well.  TO be fair, Horus/Osiris seems to be the earliest one(s) recorded.

Well I didn't even bother watching the second or third halves. But the documentary, in my opinion at last, was garbage. The movie presented an explanation to the evolution of religious customs as definitive and made pointed conclusions where more evidence should have been presented. It was interesting but I found there was too much speculation.

I'm with Steve, better to read their source material.

9/11 conspiracies are never a good thing and when they are backed up by the sources of "Loose change" they lose absolutely all credibility (its like they forget, in the ramblings, that planes actually flew into the buildings?)... But the first part on the origin of jesus was an interesting expose. however, I'm speculative of its validity based on the following 9/11 shit. There are books on the same thing though --> "the Pagan Christ" by Tom Harpur. I looks like an interesting read.

I've been doing some checking.

Most of the first part is bunk.  Or rather, they're source must've been.
Same with the second part.
And the third part, based off the "Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion", which is a proven hoax, and From Freedom to Fascism, not a hoax, but almost as bad.

So, in short, part 3 is based off of a hoax and a vat of lies.
Part 2 is based of conspiracy theorist drivel.
Part 1 is based off the author's imagination?

An interesting project would be to go through it and check every single statement they spew.
The trouble is, it normally takes 3 times as long to correct a set of lies than to make them.  And nobody would want to watch a 6-hour rebuttal.  Not to mention the tie it would take to track everything down.
