This sounds very interesting, although a bit over my head.  It would be awesome if this really advanced scientific understanding.  It really shows how science works, you make a prediction and test it.  If your prediction is confirmed by experiments, it supports your theory.  My one problem is the rather unfortunate name of the thing.  Religous types already have a sort of confused understanding of science at times, do we really need to be confusing them with talk of "God particles"?  I can just imagine them taking the leap from "Higgs boson discovered" to "Jesus loves you"

I'm actually quite excited to see what happens when the Large Hadron Collider comes online this year. It has the potential to completely revolutionize our understanding of the universe. But I agree, it's unfortunate that the media insists on names like "god particle".
